What's a Buckskin?

Tharker asks, and I answer. A buckskin is a horse gold-colored horse with a black mane and tail, like the cartoon horse Spirit. This is an image I found on the Internet. I had a buckskin mare growing up. I was positively horse crazy as a girl, and I'm especially partial to this color.
