It's too early to celebrate-- WAY too early to celebrate, but yesterday I got a phone call that had me actually shaking with excitement. It was from an agent in New York City that wants to read my manuscript. I'm editing like a mad woman so I can get it out this week. I'll just cross my fingers. Maybe I won't have to be a closet novelist for too many more years. It would be nice to join the ranks of actual published novelists. We'll see.
Wow. That's exciting. I think I'd be shaking too! What kind of story is it or what's it about?
ReplyDeleteI want to hear too! What kind of book is it? What wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteThis is the fifth manuscript that I've written and the only one I think is good enough to publish. The short of it is this: its a young adult loose modern adaptation of the myth of Cupid and Psyche.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Earlgirl, I want you to know that after reading your review of Twilight, I went back through the already finished manuscript and tried to make it more "mom friendly". There were a few places where I just couldn't get around the way the action evolves because later scenes hinge on a few of the "standards violations" but I hope it's clean enough for you. If it's ever published, you'll have to let me know. ;)
I am so excited for you. You are a great writer and I will love being able to tell people that I am your sister (in-law--I may not add that last part in so that I seem like a closer relation. JK!)
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I am so excited for you!!!!
