
June is sort of magical here. It isn't too hot yet, and it's the month of Summer Snow. In addition to Subalpine Fur, our town is dominated by Cottonwood trees. I didn't know why they were called that until I moved here. The whole month of June, little tufts of white float in the wind. It catches the sunlight and looks like snow that doesn't melt. The side of the street is lined white with it.

When it's below zero in the winter, I have to remind myself that these beautiful days will return, and I love them even more for having survived the bitter cold.
